D - Logs

8x6 D-log. 5 layer, Red Pine. Full timber core.

8x8 D-log with structural core. The log shown has a 3 ½", 1.9E, LVL core. This log option is used to carry significant loads without the need to use a Glu-Lam beam. By placing the LVL in the log prior to profiling, we insure that the erected log blends into the others without any onsite work. These are only used as needed, and we can help you determine if any are required. These logs come with engineering documentation that meets all US requirements.

6x12 D-log with 3 ½", {R17.5}, EPS core. This is our most cost efficient log design. Typically we can offer this log in 6" or 8" width for the same cost or less per square foot than most others suppliers ask for an 8x8. The additional height of this log truly changes the home aesthetics'. It is a big log. An 8" log typically requires a stack height of 13-14 courses to exceed an 8' wall height. Our log requires a stack height of only 9 logs.
